About Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF

The Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (VDC) is a passively managed exchange-traded fund that tracks the performance of a US benchmark index measuring almost 100 stocks within the consumer staples sector. This includes companies that provide direct-to-consumer (DTC) products that are considered nondiscretionary, based on the population’s spending habits, including packaged foods, soft drinks, household products, tobacco, and personal products. The fund was created in 2004 and has net assets of $6.8bn, as well as expense ratio of 0.10%. Some top-weighted holdings within VDC include Procter & Gamble, Walmart, PepsiCo, Mondelez, Estée Lauder, Costco, Philip Morris, and Colgate-Palmolive.
