It was formed in 2013 by the merger of Glencore and Xstrata, with roots back to 1926. The company produces and markets more than 60 commodities through 150 assets, including copper, gold, silver, iron ore, cobalt, nickel, crude oil, natural gas, and thermal coal. Glencore is also a market leader in the recycling of precious metals such as copper. Its official headquarters are located in Baar, Switzerland, with additional offices across 35 countries and sites in 150 locations worldwide.
