About CMC EUR Index

Our CMC EUR Index is a forex CFD basket that is made up of an assortment of currency pairs that share the same base currency, the Euro (EUR). The EUR Index provides a benchmark overview for the international value of the euro, as it tracks the underlying prices of its constituent currency pairs, which include EUR/USD, EUR/GBP, EUR/JPY and EUR/SGD. Trading on our CMC EUR Index allows to you to gain exposure to multiple currency pairs using one position, in turn helping to diversify your portfolio and offset risk across multiple assets. If individual forex prices appreciate, then this should increase the overall value of the basket, and if the forex prices depreciate, the overall value of the basket should decrease. There's no cost when opening a live spread betting or CFD trading account. You can also view prices and use tools such as charts, Reuters news or Morningstar quantitative equity reports, free of charge. However, you will need to deposit funds in your account to place a trade.

What are the costs of spread betting and CFD trading?

There are a number of costs to consider when spread betting, including spread costs, holding costs (for trades held overnight which is essentially a fee for the funds you borrow to cover the leveraged portion of the trade), rollover costs on expiring forward trades, and guaranteed stop-loss order charges (if you use this risk-management tool).
