BHP Group PLC is an Anglo-Australian mining company. It’s one of the largest metal miners in the world by market capitalisation, with headquarters in Melbourne. Its roots date back to 1885 with the formation of The Broken Hill Proprietary Company, and BHP Billiton was subsequently formed in 2001 through the merger of Australian-based BHP and Anglo-Dutch company Billiton. Through its many assets worldwide, BHP produces commodities such as copper, iron ore, nickel, petroleum, coal, uranium, natural gas, and potash. The company operates in more than 90 locations across Australia, the US, Canada, and Chile, as well as holding interest in projects based in Brazil.
